Testimonial # 60 - Mdm Divya, a middle-aged Housewife who lost 6kgs after 20 sessions of Cardio n Fitness
Program April, 2011.
Mdm Divya was referred to me by her friend who was my client in Jan, 2011. She stayed in Thomson Lane luxury condo
and has never work out in a the gym before. She has completely no idea how a threadmill or an E.trainer function.
She weighs 72 kg before the program and she signed up for 10 sessions as she was not sure whether she

Zhi Ren who weighs 96 kg in early 2011 and has a waist line of 44 inches. When he started his JC in feb, 2011, he
had difficulties finding the right pant for himself. The largest pant's size available is still too small for him. He also realised
that he is the "heaviest" student in class and that affected his self esteem. That self esteem motivated him to renew the Weight
Loss Program with me. (please see below as he was my client when he was in primary 6)
I designed a cardio training program 3x a week for him and also advised him to control his eating portions and restrict
his carbo intakes. By the end of 30 sessions, his weight had gone down from 96kg to 87kg, a reduction of 9kg. (He lost
another 4kg to 83kg on 26th July, 2011)
He is able to run 2.4km on the threadmill from 20 mins to less than 14 mins. His waist-line also reduced more than 5

After
a few sessions working on lower body, I begin to feel the changes, my thighs and glut have become a lot more toner and by
the end of 20 sessions, with weightlifting and cardio, my lower body have become much much more defined and my upper body
have gotten a lot toner too. The exercises were varied so one won't feel bored. I have learned a lot about using different
machines and I felt independent and confident about venturing out to weight train on my own.
Besides
training, the advice Calvin gave me on intake for meals are very useful as it complements with weight training. Initially
i found it really hard to reduce my intake and switch to high protein, low fat food but gradually, after a few weeks of attempting,
I began to appreciate the new diet and have kept to it since.

I have been
working out on the treadmill for a few years now but have not been able to see much results in terms of weight loss, or better
shape and toning…Also I was short of breath whenever I climbed 3 levels to my walk up apartment.…I had been
observing Calvin training someone at the gym and was amazed by his commitment, passion and personal attention and the detail
oriented well rounded training. I decided to approach him to train me and Calvin did not immediately jump at the idea

I have since been training with him on weekends. I have never met a more passionate, committed personal trainer. He has never

the last 3 months, I have gained significantly in terms of strength and stamina. I have also lost a little bit of weight and

PERFORMANCE AND STAMINA ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM, May, 2006
"I was referred to Calvin by my friend to hire him as my personal trainer to
improve my sport performance and stamina. At the sametime, I wanted to reduce my waistline of 33 inches even though i
had been doing jogging regularly.
During the first encounter, I found Calvin to be friendly and briefed me
on the gym's equipments. The gym was fully equiped and is conducive for training even though the floor area may
be limited. As a result, I signed up 20 sessions with him.
Calvin conducted the Physical Fitness Assessment on me and hi-lited the areas that I
needed to improve and gave advices on my eating habits.
After training twice a week with Calvin's training program for less than 1 month, my
stamina and strength improved greatly. My waistline is reducing as well.
At the end of the 20 sessions, my body physique improved
with distinct muscle definition on my chest, shoulder, biceps and triceps areas. My waist reduced by 2 inches.

Standing at 176cm and weighs 64kg, I am slightly underweight. But this is not my problem. The real problem
is that I am entering into middle-age and my body is starting to grow “out-of-shape”. Then it came that day, I told myself that I need to do something about me.
I started to look for a personal trainer. As I am already near 40 years
of age, I told myself that I prefer someone who has also gone through this phase of life so that he could better understand
my plight and requirements. After spending a few days checking with friends and
surfing the internet, I settled for Calvin Chew.
I told Calvin that I want to gain more muscles and
tone up, especially my upper body. I also told him I want to see results in 3
months’ time. But having been inactive in exercise for more than
10 years, I knew it would not be an easy journey for both of us. Besides, my main interest is in fine-dining and I told Calvin
that it would be difficult for me to follow a strict healthy diet.
Calvin was nevertheless very patient with me. He took note of all my preferences and limitations and prescribed a programme that suit me very well. He was able to get just the right balance - not being too hard on me to the extent
that I would lose interest, but at the same time pushed me enough to ensure I was not wasting my time and money. I thought I would dread going to the gym. But to my pleasant
surprise, I found each session with Calvin enjoyable, largely motivated by the positive results. I recalled that there were days where my meetings ended very late at night and I could conveniently cancel
my training. But instead, I requested Calvin to postpone my training to start
later and he always obliged.
The
progress has been much better than I expected. Today, after
only 20 sessions ( 2 months ), I must say I am very pleased with the results. The
gain in muscles and definition at the chest, biceps, triceps and back is very noticeable. I was at a Lunar New Year gathering with some friends whom I had not met for about a year, and received
compliments from everyone. I believe the day to achieve my end goals would not
be too far away.
To
me, Calvin is more than a personal trainer, but also a personal friend. His service
extends beyond the gym. For example, he was on constant contact with me via text
messages or email to check on my progress. I also recalled he even offered to
bring me to the supermarket to show me what sort of food to buy, but due to my work commitment, we were not able to meet up. He ended up bringing samples to the gym to show me.
I am glad I have found him.

"I had engaged Calvin as my
personal trainer to help me lose weight. I was weighing more than 78kg with a waistline of 39
inches in Nov, 2004. Please see below photo. I was feeling depressed about my weight that affect my

I enjoy my personal training with Calvin as he understands the issues that
I have to face: scoliosis and the flexibility of an 80 years old person ;) and I have not trained
